“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
~Margaret Mead
In the fall of 2023, local music educator Sue Nazzaro invited a small group of amateur musicians to discuss her vision of a building dedicated to the support of community music making.
These discussions led to the formation of a board and a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization–the Community Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs (CPACSS).
“The woods would be very silent if no birds sang, except those who sang best.” ~Henry Van Dyke
While we celebrate and enjoy the achievements of ensembles and orchestras where members are selected on the basis of competitive auditions, that is not our model.
We want everyone who feels drawn to the power and pleasure of music making to have the opportunity to do so in a non-competitive environment.
“Life without playing music is inconceivable to me.”
~Albert Einstein
Saratoga Springs deserves a dedicated space for music to flourish. A place where amateur musicians can connect, learn, and create together. The Community Performing Arts Center will provide affordable and accessible facilities for music lessons, practice rooms, and performance spaces – designed for everyone from soloists to full orchestras. Help us build this vital community resource!
We want everyone who feels drawn to the power and pleasure of music making to have the opportunity to do so in a non-competitive environment.
